A Brief Guide to the 2014 Mazda CX-9

Although the Mazda CX-9 is not the new kid on the seven seater SUV block, it is certainly holding its own in a stiff competition segment. Although the CX-9 is not the cheapest option on the market, it certainly offers a great deal of features which encourage a further look before you commit to a purchase.

Aesthetics:

The interior of the Mazda CX-9 looks and feels great. The interior finish includes cloth seats and leather touches to the gear knob and steering wheel. The CX-9 feels spacious with plenty of room for children in the third row seating, with tilt and slide seating in the second row allowing access. However, if you choose to use the rear seating area for boot space, you can increase the capacity from 267 litres to an impressive 928 litres. The seating feels comfortable with plenty of space for adults or children and it includes three anchor points for child seats in the second row. In the front, the seating feels comfortable and supported, perfectly complementing the high quality touches of chrome in the cabin design.

Outside, the lines look clean and crisp providing a pleasing aesthetic, which complements the Mazda brand line of vehicles. Consumers can choose mica or metallic paint finishes at no additional cost, which represents a saving of up to a $1000 compared to other brands.

Gadgets:
The standard model Mazda CX-9 includes a 5.6 inch touch screen which allows control of the six speaker media system and shows the view from the reversing camera. Additional extras from the luxury versions include leather trim, electronic seat adjustment, heated seats, folding heated side mirrors and Bose stereo with ten speakers. The top of the line Grand Touring model includes bi xenon headlights, automated high beam, rear park sensors, electronic tail gate, forward collision alert and auto dim rear view mirror. The model includes USB and Bluetooth connectivity to allow audio and phone streaming. This makes the system easy and convenient to use.

Performance:
The CX-9 incorporates a 3.7 litre V6 engine, which delivers 204kW power and 367Nm torque. This makes it perfectly able to cope with the challenges of highway travel or the urban commute. The engine feels gutsy and strong, yet manages a consumption of 11 litres per 100 kilometres. However, this does not make the Mazda feel like a tank, as it provides nimble handling despite its substantial weight of 1939 kilograms. The steering feels direct and sporty, which helps less confident drivers manage the substantial length of the vehicle. This in combination with the reverse sensors makes parking this 5.1 metre long beast a breeze.
The engine is paired with an automatic six speed transmission, which makes shifting quick and responsive. Although there is some degree of road noise, the ride feels firm and comfortable. New CX-9 owners can also take advantage of the Mazda unlimited kilometre scheme provided for its three year warranty.

If you are interested in the Mazda CX-9, contact us. We have an extensive showroom and our sales team would be happy to demonstrate the model or answer any questions you may have.

A Brief Guide to the Mazda 3 SP25

mazda 3

The Mazda 3 has been a popular model for the Japanese car brand, but with the Ford Focus and offerings from other car manufacturers vying for the top sales slot, Mazda are pulling out all the stops with their latest upgrade. The SP25 pack is designed to address a number of refinements to improve the overall performance and passenger enjoyment of the vehicle.

On the Road:
Noise suppression was a major consideration with the Mazda 3 SP25. This is a challenging aspect as its major competitor, the Ford Focus is the quietest type of hatchback on the market. However, the SkyActiv engine offers a great deal more power with a compression ratio of 13.5:1 from the 2488cc capacity. This generates an impressive 138kW when at 5700 rpm and 250Nm at a rate of 3250rpm. This power is perfectly complemented with the six speed automatic transmission, using paddle shifters, which allows a 0-100 kilometres rate of just eight seconds. The 18 inch alloys not only look great but allow a well resolved ride, making the Mazda feel very comfortable on the road. However, this performance does not sacrifice fuel efficiency as the 8 litres per 100 kilometres consumption is only beaten by the Focus.

Finish:
Unlike many models where cost cutting is immediately apparent, the Mazda manages a great finish. The internal plastics feel high quality and the controls feel smooth and tactile. Even smaller elements such as the glove box open smoothly with a nice action. There is a great attention to detail applied externally, with the paint finish looking excellent. The fit of the body panels is precise and even the door jambs show a glossy finish and clean welds.

Gadgets:
Mazda have developed a great reputation for providing a high level of technology and gadgets on their models and the Mazda 3 SP25 is no exception. The model features a seven inch centrally mounted touchscreen, which allows complete control of all of the onboard infotainment. The technology is both intelligent and intuitive, providing a great user friendly interface. For example, pairing your phone is a simple matter of pressing one button to allow voice command to direct the process onto the touchscreen. Standard gadgets include Bluetooth connectivity, Aha Pandora and Stitcher apps, climate control, automatic wipers and headlights, reversing camera and idle stop start system. There is also the upgrade safety pack which provides Rear cross traffic alerts, Smart City braking and Blind Spot monitor.

Cost:
The Mazda 3 SP25 offers great value for money. It is provided with an unlimited kilometre 36 month warranty. Mazda also offers capped price servicing for the lifetime of the vehicle, which applies annually or every 10,000 kilometres. While the new model is still too young to determine how it will retain value, according to Red Book, a three year old model retains 66 percent of the original sales price.

How To Get The Best Out Of Car Dealers In Perth

Along with an increase in the number of Mazda dealerships in Perth, the number of car buying scams has also increased. However if you keep in mind a few useful tips such as bargaining and never revealing your budget, you will be able to protect yourself from the dealer tricking you into buying an expensive or damaged car.

Planning to buy a new car can be a pretty daunting task. With so many Mazda dealerships in Perth, the task becomes almost an impossible one. Both your time and money are drained and often, even after putting in your resources, you might not get what you had initially planned.. Thus, below are a few tips that can help you to get the best out of the car dealer that you have chosen.

mazda dealership perth

Never reveal your budget
This tip is extremely helpful, whether you are purchasing a car or a piece of cloth because the minute the salesperson will get to know your monthly budget, he/she will charge you a price according to that. For example, if they will get to know that you can afford a luxury car, they will try selling that to you rather than the car that you initially planned to purchase. Or they would simply tell you a much higher price of a normal car. However, this usually happens when you are at a used Mazda dealership in Perth.

Always bargain
Always make sure that you bargain enough when purchasing a car. This is primarily because the dealers never reveal the original price to you when you ask them at first and plan to earn an extra profit by making the sales at an unusually high price. Thus, make sure that you find out the original price of the car that you intend to purchase before going to the car dealer and then bargain until he/she agrees to that price.

Sign up for full payment if can afford

Car dealers usually trick you into signing up for their monthly installments plan. Although it might sound attractive at that moment, it actually costs you a lot more than the actual price of the car.Hence, always avoid signing up for a monthly installment plan if you can afford to make the full payment. However, always ensure that your car dealer is credible before you make the full payment because you never know the dealership might be a scam.

Wait until December

Holidays such as the Christmas or the thanksgiving are a great time of the year to get cheap deals and offers. Thus, if you do not require a car urgently, it is recommended that you should wait until December when Mazda dealerships Perth offer great discounts to clear out their stocks. If you have a low budget, then this time of the year is the perfect opportunity for you to buy a car of your choice and that too at an extremely low rate.

By keeping in mind all these tips mentioned above, you can avoid being exploited or scammed by a car dealer. Moreover, the transaction will become much easier and less wallet draining.

Is There an Aussie Tax on New Cars?

mazda 3

Buying a new car can be a costly event. However, buyers in Australia are increasingly frustrated by what appears to be an Aussie tax imposed on the Australian automotive market. Popular models such as the Mazda 3 and Ford Focus appear to be far more costly compared to other areas of the world such as the UK.

The Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries or FCAI has taken these claims seriously and recently conducted a research study to determine if consumers had a reasonable argument for the existence of the Aussie Tax. The FCAI engaged IHS Automotive to research the pricing of a number of new cars in the Australian market and their equivalent models in the United Kingdom.

In a recent press conference, the FCAI announced the results of the research, which has determined that the Australian prices are in fact favourable compared to the UK market. This is good news for the constituent members of the FCAI, which includes car companies which build or import cars for the Australian market. The study has highlighted that the Australian market is highly competitive and has sixty seven brands competing for a greater market share across over three hundred and fifty models.

IHS Automotive conducted the research by comparing the pricing and specification of imported vehicles which are sold in Australia and the two other right hand drive market places. Using this research the FCAI further analysed the market, comparing models which were “like for like” with the same specification.  This showed that in the vast majority of cases, the Australian models were cheaper compared to the same specification model in New Zealand or the United Kingdom.

The analysis compared the standard specification of models and the basic price before on the road costs were imposed within each market. In order to achieve consistency, the IHS UK figures were based on a conversion to the Australian dollar with an exchange rate of £0.55. This is the average of the exchange rate seen during the first six months of 2014.

Although some of the models were more expensive for the Australian market, in many cases, there was very little difference in price. However, the Australian price could see a marked inflation due to the imposition of Luxury Car Tax, which is applied to vehicles priced over $61,884.

This research has highlighted that the Australian market does offer consumers great deals. For example the Mazda 3 Neo, is available in Australia for $23,792, while it is offered in the UK for $31,405. Other notable examples include the Ford Focus Trend which is $32,325 in the UK while being $22,290 in Australia and the Toyota Corolla Ascent Sport, which is almost identically priced on sale in Australia for $23,540 and the UK for $24,250.

Ways to finance a new Mazda MX 5

There are many ways to finance a new Mazda MX 5. You could finance the car through a dealership, a bank or credit union, online financial institution, home equity loan or acquaintances.

You might be thinking about getting yourself a new Mazda MX 5. There are many ways in which you can raise the money to buy yourself this car. This article discusses the different ways in which you can finance cars.

mazda mx-5

Dealership:
You can finance the Mazda MX 5 through a dealership. The advantage of financing the car through a dealership is that the process is very convenient and fast. Dealerships advertise the financing options on their websites and offer competitive rates.

A bank or credit union:
The advantages of raising money through a bank or credit union are the competitive rates and personal service they offer. They are helpful as they can inform you if you are paying too much money for a car. Sometimes, banks provide insurance or disability insurance for free if you take a loan from them. Simple interest has to be paid on the kind of loan the bank offers for the car.  A major disadvantage of this type of financing is that it is not as convenient as dealership financing is.

Online financial institution:
The advantage of raising funds through an online financial institution is that the rates offered by the institution are competitive. Another advantage is that it is quick and easy. A major disadvantage associated with online financial institutions is that they don’t offer a personal service. Moreover, you are not familiar with the person you are dealing with and that’s why you will have to check that there is no scam.

Home equity loan:

The advantages of a home equity loan are that some portion of the interest gets deducted in the form of tax and the competitive rates offered. The disadvantage of using this type of financing is that you are tying your loan to your home; this could be risky.

An acquaintance like a family member or a friend:
You could benefit by taking money for the car from an acquaintance. This is because the acquaintance will offer personal service and could be flexible with respect to payment. Usually rates offered by acquaintances are very competitive. The problem with borrowing money from an acquaintance is that it might harm the relationship.

Ascertaining the rate of interest:

The interest rates that are shown on the television or those that appear in the newspaper are different from the rate of interest that you will actually have to pay. The most important thing with respect to interest rates is your credit rating, credit history and credit score. These things are important because they inform lenders about your spending habits; these things also inform the lenders how risky it is for them to lend their money. The time period of the loan also affects the rate of interest and shorter loans have lower rates of interest. Similarly, the interest rate on an old car will be higher than the rate of interest on a new car.

Types of insurance coverage for your Mazda Bt-50

There are many types of insurance you can buy for your Mazda Bt-50. The types of insurance available include liability, collision, comprehensive, medical coverage, personal injury protection, uninsured motorist, underinsured motorist and rental reimbursement.

mazda bt-50

The Mazda Bt-50 might be your dream vehicle and you might decide to buy it. After buying it, you will choose a type of insurance coverage for your vehicle. The insurance policy that you will buy will depend on many factors like what type of car you drive and what type of insurance you want. This article discusses the various types of insurance that are available on the market.

Liability:
This type of insurance covers the charges for unintentional ``body injury and property damages’’ that you may cause to others. The term ``body injury’’ refers to medical charges, pain and suffering and any wages the person may lose. The term ``property damage’’ refers to payment for damaged property and automobiles, court and defense costs. The amount of this coverage has to be purchased in accordance with the state laws. However, that does not mean that you can’t get more coverage than the amount allowed by the state laws.

Collision:
This type of insurance coverage pays for two types of collisions; it pays for repair of the damages that might occur due to collision of two vehicles and the collision that may occur between a vehicle and an object.

Comprehensive:
This type of insurance will cover damages which don’t occur due to accidents. This type of insurance is important for covering damage caused to car by the wind, a flood, theft or vandalism.

Medical Coverage:
This type of coverage pays the medical bills. It will pay the bill whenever there has been a car accident. It will do so regardless of whose fault the accident was.

Personal Injury Protection:
This type of coverage is a requirement in certain states. This coverage will bear the cost of the medical bill of the injured driver. It will do so regardless of whose fault the accident was.

Uninsured Motorist:
A driver may not have liability insurance. For such a driver, this type of coverage pays the bill for the accident caused by the driver.

Underinsured Motorist:
The person who caused the accident may not have liability insurance. In that case, this type of coverage pays for the vehicle’s damages.

Rental reimbursement:
If you have rented a vehicle and that vehicle gets damaged due to an accident then this type of insurance will pay the bill for the repair of the car.
There are a lot of insurance policies which combine these different types of insurance coverage. Before buying insurance for the Mazda Bt-50, you should be familiar with the insurance laws in your state. These will tell you what the state requires from you; you should get insurance even if there are no state laws on insurance. This is because insurance protects you from paying hefty bills in the case of an accident.
